History of Education Policymaking in India 1947-2016

This book documents the history of education policymaking in India from 1947 to 2016. It provides a nuanced understanding of policy developments from the inception of the Indian Education Commission (1882) to developments in the field of education during the British era, and consequently the post-independence period. The book is particularly aimed at covering most major developments post 1980s and placing them in the context of existing political, economic, and social developments.
